Find Out What’s in Your Water
Water Softener & Filtration Installation in Central Illinois
- Fix Water Quality Issues at the Source
Water Quality Help for Central Illinois Homes and Businesses
Hard water is one of the most common water problems in Central Illinois and a water softener is usually the fix. We install and repair water softeners and Hydrotech filtration systems for homes, offices, and commercial spaces across Champaign, Danville, Urbana, and surrounding areas. Before we recommend anything, we test your water first at no cost. You’ll know exactly what you’re dealing with before spending a dime.
Homes and Families
We help families get better water at the tap, in the laundry, and everywhere it counts. Our systems are matched to what your water actually needs, no one-size-fits-all setup, and no more plumbing guesswork.
Offices and Small Businesses
Whether you manage an office, shop, or rental space, we install and repair water systems that support daily use without constant service calls or plumbing surprises.
- Not Sure What’s in Your Water?
Common Water Issues We Catch Before They Get Worse
You don’t have to see a problem for your water to be causing one. Over time, untreated water can wear down your plumbing, damage appliances, and leave behind buildup that’s tough to clean. Things you might notice:
- Cloudy dishes or spots that won’t wipe off
- Chalky scale or rust stains on sinks and tubs
- Itchy skin or dull hair after showers
- Soap that doesn’t lather—or takes forever to rinse
- Appliances breaking down sooner than expected
- Tap water that tastes off or smells strange
These are signs that something’s going on beneath the surface. A quick test can help you figure out what you’re dealing with, and if a system makes sense for your setup.

Frequently Asked Questions
Water testing is free! There are two easy ways to get yours at no cost:
1. Schedule any HVAC, plumbing, or electrical service call — just ask when you call and your technician will bring a test kit along, collect the sample on-site, and send it back with them.
2. Stop by our office at C-U Trade Services, 1153 County Road 1200 E, Champaign, IL 61822 — Monday–Friday, 8 AM–4 PM — pick up a kit, collect the sample yourself, and bring it back to us.
If no service call is scheduled and you’d like us to come out solely for testing, a trip charge will apply.
Our water test is a $170 value — offered at no cost to you. We handle everything from start to finish: the test kit, lab processing, and reviewing the results with you so the right recommendations can be made before any decisions are made.
The only way to know for sure is to start with a water test. Every home’s water is different — your needs could be completely different from your neighbor’s. Until we know exactly what’s in your water, we can’t recommend the right solution. The test takes the guesswork out of it and makes sure any recommendation we make is based on your water, not a one-size-fits-all assumption.
Yes — the Environmental Working Group (EWG) has a free tap water database at ewg.org/tapwater where you can search by zip code to see what contaminants have been detected in your local water supply. Keep in mind this reflects municipal reporting data, which is a good starting point but doesn’t tell the full picture of what’s coming out of your specific tap. A water test is still the most accurate way to know exactly what you’re dealing with at your home.
Yes. Water softeners are one of the most common systems we install, especially in Central Illinois where hard water is a widespread problem. We’ll test your water first, and if a softener makes sense for your setup, we’ll walk you through the options before anything gets scheduled.
Our in-house plumbing team is trained specifically on the water systems we install, so you’re never stuck calling a separate company or hoping a random technician knows your equipment. From routine maintenance to unexpected repairs, you have one trusted team that knows your system inside and out — the same people who put it in.
